Bring Chess to Your School!
How the our Chess Club Operates
Our one hour chess club is separated into two halves with 30 minutes of instructional time, and 30 minutes of playing time where we continue to observe and coach our students. Prizes are awarded throughout the session to encourage progress and good sportsmanship. On the last day, every student receives a pocket-sized magnetic chess board and compete in a tournament to win medals.
We maintain an 8:1 student to teacher ratio and provide a limited amount of scholarships, based on enrollment. An average session runs 8 classes (one per week) and we usually do 4 sessions each school year.
Bringing chess to your school is easy. Follow these three steps:
1) Email, or give us a call, with the days and dates that work best for you to have chess at your school.
2) After we have the dates, we will turn in the rental agreement and send you a flyer to be approved by you.
3) Once the flyer is approved, we will publish it on our website and deliver a batch to your school to be distributed to the students.
All administrative and marketing needs will be taken care of by us. The only things we need are your approval and a place on campus to run the chess club. A teachers room, library, or even lunch tables will work. Any teachers who are willing to let us use their classrooms are eligible for our "Teacher's Scholarship" which allows 1 student of their choice to enter the club for free!
